PARENTS: There is a new state-mandated component to the driver training instruction offered to students. This component must be completed by the parent of any student who is enrolled in the Driver Education course at HHS before the student can receive their DEC-1 Card (Proof of successful completion of classroom driver education training).
Per State Mandate: The parent/student driver education component shall be administered as part of the classroom portion of the driver education curriculum. The program shall emphasize (i) parental responsibilities regarding juvenile driver behavior, (ii) juvenile driving restrictions pursuant to this Code, (iii) the dangers of driving while intoxicated and underage consumption of alcohol, and (iv) the dangers of distracted driving.
Click on the link below to access a Google Form (this must be completed by a parent/guardian). A link to the required viewing components (video and PowerPoint) can be accessed from the Google Form. Upon successful completion of the parent/student component, your form will be submitted to our driver education instructor. Should you have any questions, please contact Christopher Akers at [email protected].
