About
In 1964, Holston High School opened its doors to students in grades 8 – 12 as a result of the consolidation of Liberty Hall and Damascus High School.
Today, Holston is a four-year school that is part of the Washington County School System. The school’s current enrollment of 270 come from Damascus as well as the smaller rural communities of Alvarado, Bethel, Friendship, High Point, Green Cove, Konnarock, Lodi, Rhea Valley, Rush Creek, Shallow Ford, Taylor’s Valley, White Top, and Widener’s Valley.
Located two miles north of Damascus, Holston High School is situated in a rural setting of 19.6 acres of land. The surrounding hills and South Fork of the Holston River, which is less than a quarter of a mile from the campus, provide natural beauty to the campus and serve as an integral part of the learning environment.
While the school is centrally located to serve its school population, several students travel more than 20 miles to obtain an education.
