📢SCHEDULE CHANGE: WCPS will need to remain closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, 2026. VDOT and AEP have done a terrific job helping our community recover from the significant ice event over the weekend. We are also thankful for our custodians and maintenance staff for their hard work to get our buildings and grounds safe and ready for our students to return. However, there are still several obstacles preventing us from returning to school on Wednesday. Childcare for elementary students will be provided at elementary schools (for elementary aged students only) for working families who need it. Please watch for additional information from your child’s elementary school. We are hopeful that we can return to school on Thursday by running buses on clear roads only. If that is not possible, Thursday would be a Remote Learning Day. Until then, stay warm, be safe, and send a huge thank you to the workers and employees who have worked so hard in these treacherous conditions.

Rebels beginning Friday, January 30, the PH cafeteria staff will be providing a baked potato bar every other Friday at least through March. Stop by and get filled up with a delicious baked potato loaded with your choice of toppings!

Please watch for additional information from your child’s elementary school. As temperatures drop, we recognize that for some students, school is the warmest place they have access to. We have made significant efforts to ensure children who need hats, gloves, and jackets receive them. If you know of a child who may need assistance, please contact your school principal so we can provide support.

PH wrestling had a good day at the Rural Retreat Invitational Tournament. Three made it to the blood round- Bishop Ratliff, Matthew Giarla, Michia Blazier- big shout out to Michia Blazier for getting his first win this season! He didn't stop there, he was 3-2 for the day! Jaxton Harner finished strong in a tough bracket with a 4th place finish! Come out on Jan 14th ( this Wednesday ) at PH, 6:00 PM to support the wrestling team at their first home match!!!

Anatomy students at Patrick Henry High School completed end of semester projects to show their knowledge of the human digestive system. Kinsley C and Ava K show their theme park creation of GastroWorld which takes visitors through thrilling rides. Some of these rides include the ‘Food Tube Water Plume’ which simulates the esophagus and the ‘Nutrient Nemesis’ roller coaster which demonstrates how the small intestine transports nutrients for further use.

Members of the PH Scholastic Bowl Team participated in the Tornado Invitational Tournament at Richland High School on Saturday, January 3. They came away victorious. Carter W. won as top individual and the PH Scholastic Bowl Team were the tournament champions!! Way to go Rebels!!

The PH Girls wrestling team competed at the Lord Botetourt first annual Feats of Strength wrestling tournament on 12/23. Sydney Moore runner-up (2nd) Bailey Keen placed 4th Haven Street placed 4th The girls showed big improvements… time to head back to the cage and put some work in before their next tournament on the 27th!

Patrick Henry wrestling had a big weekend last weekend, at The Bobby Bates Tournament; To include the first annual Girls Bobby Bates Tournament! Hard work is paying off!
