Rebels, don't miss out on purchasing your yearbook! Time is running out!

Attention Rebels! Our baseball games vs Auburn High School and the home track meet scheduled for this evening have all been cancelled because of the frigid temperature outside. We will let everyone know of the rescheduled dates as soon as possible.

📢 SCHEDULE CHANGE: Many roads across the county have developed ice patches overnight. As a result, today, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, will be a Remote Learning Day. No childcare will be provided.
Because of the Remote Learning Day, the WCPS Nutrition Department will offer breakfast and lunch meals for students at four locations. Meals will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Abingdon High School, John S. Battle High School, Patrick Henry High School, and Holston High School. Any child 18 years of age or younger is eligible to receive meals and may choose one of the four listed locations for meal pick-up. Students do not need to be present for families to pick up meals.

📢 SCHEDULE CHANGE: Due to winter weather conditions, WCPS will operate on a 2-Hour Delayed Schedule on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
Childcare for elementary students will be provided at elementary schools (for elementary-aged students only) for working families who need it. Please watch for additional information from your child’s elementary school.
If additional changes need to be made, we will shift to a remote learning day by 7:30 a.m. Childcare will not be provided if the division transitions to remote learning.

Rebels! Imagine you had to eat a frog today. When would you do it? Most people say first thing in the morning so it’s over with. Your frog is the most important or hardest task you’re avoiding. PH students were challenged to find the meaning of "Eat the Frog". Congratulations to Zen M. for being the first to respond to Mrs. Johnson with the meaning. On March 19th students will "Eat the Frog" during lunch and get fun prizes.
Here is Zens reply for the win - To "Eat the Frog" means to take on the challenges that are being thrown at you, often early in the morning. The phrase comes from a Mark Twain quote: "If it's your job to eat the frog, it's best to do it in the morning."

Twenty-eight Patrick Henry High School students traveled to Radford University for a day on campus. Students attended an admissions informational meeting, took a tour of the campus, and ate lunch in the campus cafeteria.

Patrick Henry science teacher, Dr. Beth Litz, has been chosen as one of twelve teachers nationwide who will attend the 2026 Landscape to Molecules Teacher Workshop. This event is held annually in Yellowstone National Park and allows teachers the opportunity to experience field research and exploration in America’s first National Park. Dr. Litz frequently uses stories from her travels to national parks to enhance instruction in biology and ecology classes, just ask her students! Teacher participants will stay onsite in the park and work with researchers to better understand the complex ecosystem dynamics with Yellowstone as the classroom. Teachers will design integrated ecosystem models and work to analyze data which will help explain changes within the diverse ecosystems found within the park. Congratulations Dr. Litz! We can't wait to hear about your adventures in Yellowstone!
