We enjoyed our last day before Christmas break by coming together as a school community for a joyful schoolwide sing-along to start the day. Students and staff then settled in to watch The Polar Express, creating a cozy and festive atmosphere throughout the building.

Everyone enjoyed warm hot cocoa delivered by our PTO, which added an extra special touch to the celebration. It was a wonderful way to slow down, celebrate the season, and make lasting holiday memories together at Greendale Elementary. We are so thankful for our supportive PTO and the joy shared by our students and staff.

Students in 5th grade at Greendale constructed Santa's sleigh as part of a STEM science project. They could only use a handful of paper supplies, so creativity was the key! Students then tested each sleigh to see if it could pull a stuffed elf, a book, and a heavy brick.

Greendale Elementary was proud to have the opportunity to spread holiday cheer through a school-wide service project. Students and families generously donated personal care items to support the residents of Greendale Home during the Christmas season.

Thanks to the kindness of our school community, several boxes of personal care items were collected. Our fifth-grade students had the special honor of delivering the donations in person. During their visit, the students shared the true spirit of the season by singing Christmas carols for the residents, bringing smiles and joy to everyone present.

This project was a meaningful opportunity for our students to give back, show compassion, and connect with our neighbors. Greendale Elementary is grateful for the generosity of our families and the chance to make a positive impact in our community. Together, we truly made the season brighter for others.

We are proud to share that our amazing custodian, Ms. Janie, has been recognized with the Washington Way Award! This award celebrates individuals who go above and beyond to model respect, responsibility, and care for others—and this honor is truly well deserved.

Our custodian works tirelessly behind the scenes each day to keep our school safe, clean, and welcoming for students, staff, and families. Her dedication, kindness, and positive attitude make a difference in our building every single day.

Congratulations and thank you for all you do to support our Greendale Elementary community! We are so grateful for you!

Students in kindergarten and first grade presented a holiday-themed program on December 16. Dressed as reindeer, elves, and angels, the students sang songs for the season and demonstrated their beat and rhythm skills on various instruments such as drums, jingle bells, and rhythm sticks. A highlight of the night was when the teachers played "Mele Kalikimaka" on ukuleles while also playing kazoos.
