Spanish students have been learning about the country of Mexico and its national holiday, Dia de los Muertos which begins at midnight on Oct 31 and lasts until Nov 02. This is a Mexican holiday that was started by the Aztecs and dates back 3000 years ago. Students celebrated on the actual day with a fiesta that included traditional food such as pan de muerto and authentic Mexican fare such as tacos durados.
Sofia Belcher made the traditional bread, "Pan de Muerto" from scratch and Javier Ornate brought in homemade tacos durados to share with the class. .
