Damascus Fifth Graders Serve as "Santas' Elves"

Students from Damascus Middle School share gifts with senior citizens for Christmas.

The fifth grade of Damascus Middle School adopted 18 senior citizens of Damascus at Christmas. The seniors were honored with a reception hosted by fifth grade which was funded by their Learn and Serve grant, "Santa's ELVES" on December 14th. "Santa" distributed presents brought by the students. This program will continue throughout the year with Valentine's Day, Easter baskets and a May Day celebration.

The Washington County Schools' General Career and Technical Education Advisory Council will have a meeting on Tuesday, January 29, 2002, from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the William N. Neff Center, 255 Stanley Street, Abingdon, VA 24210. (The January 15, 2002 Meeting is Cancelled.)

The Budget Committee will meet as scheduled below.

The Washington County Gifted Advisory Committee will meet on Monday, January 14, 2002, at 7:00 P.M. at the School Board Office, 812 Thompson Drive, Abingdon, Va.
