Wallace Middle School Science Fair

Two students are pictured with their science fair project.The Wallace Middle School GATE program hosted its annual science fair on Tuesday, January 31. Forty-nine participants from sixth, seventh, and eighth grades displayed 33 projects in the school auditorium. The projects were judged by a team of three judges.

Abigail M. and Seth S.  from eighth grade took the first place blue ribbon with the project “Does Gender Influence Personality?” Faith R. from sixth grade won 2nd place with, “Kinetic and Potential Energy.”  Lauren Lewis took third place with her project titled, “Ice Ice Maybe.”  Caroline H. and Rachael S. from the eighth grade earned honorable mention with their project, “Gummy Bear Osmosis.” Donovan N. and Nicholas W. won student choice award with their Hovercraft Design.  The winners went on to compete in the Blue Ridge Regional Science Fair at Radford University on March 4 where Abigail M. and Seth S. won third place in the Behavioral and Social Science Category. Donovan N. and Nicholas W. received an honorable mention in Engineering Mechanics Category. Wallace Middle School would like to congratulate these students and all who participated and helped make this year’s science fair a success.
