Wallace Middle School Students wore their crazy hats to school on February 17 to raise money to help end cancer. Students were asked to contribute at least $1 to be able to wear their hat of choice.

David Boyd came to visit Mrs. Griffin's classroom to read them a story about the weather. Mrs. Griffin's room watches Mr. Boyd's weather forecast as part of their morning group every day. The students really enjoyed getting to meeting Mr. Boyd in person!

Eleven Members of the Child Nutrition Department attended the 68th Annual School Nutrition Association of Virginia (SNA-VA) State Conference held in Hampton Virginia March 17th – 19th and returned home with several awards given from the State Association.

The John S. Battle High School Future Business Leaders of America club recently began a community service project called Battle Buddies. They meet with their buddies at Valley Institute once a month to share bonding time, make crafts, and play games.

On Saturday, March 11th, the Earth Science and Geology students from Holston High School attended the 3rd Annual Clinch River Youth Summit in Lebanon. While they were there, the students learned about determining water quality, protecting riparian buffers, determining pollination cycles, and conducting sustainable agriculture.
