Free and Reduced Meals
Free and reduced price meals are available at all schools. All Washington County students who received these meal benefits are covered on the application on file from last year for the first (30) days (September 27th 2011) of the new school year. If a new application is processed prior to (September 27th) the new benefits then go into effect. It is the parent's responsibility to reapply during this 30-day period (by September 27) or the child will go to a paid status. We encourage families that are approved for Free or Reduced Price meals to also eat breakfast. Free and Reduced price meal status can be applied for at any time during the school year including short-term family hardship. Parents must be prepared to provide, or pay for lunch, until the application is processed.* (*May take up to 10 business days). You may pick up a Free and Reduced Lunch Application at your child(rens) school or you may submit an application on line. To submit an application on line, go to the Washington County web-site and click on Departments, then click on School Nutrition. On the left side of the page click on Application for Free and Reduced Meals and follow the instructions for completion.
