Congratulations to Dr. Perrigan! Keith S. Perrigan, Principal of Patrick Henry High School, became President of the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals on July 1, 2012. Dr. Perrigan was elected by his peers at the 85th Virginia Middle and High School Principals Conference and Exposition held in Williamsburg.

According to VASSP Executive Director Randy Barrack, Dr. Perrigan is a visionary leader and has been a strong advocate for principals and assistant principals during his tenure on the VASSP Board of Directors. Dr. Perrigan has been the Association’s Region Seven Director since 2007. Region Seven includes 15 counties and 2 cites. VASSP regions coincide with the Virginia Department of Education’s study regions.

Dr. Perrigan, a lifelong resident of Washington County, taught emotionally disturbed children for six years before becoming a high school assistant principal. He has been a building administrator in three different high schools and the Principal of Patrick Henry since 2005. Dr. Perrigan has been in the education field for 18 years. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia at Wise, master’s degree at Radford University, and a doctor of education degree at Virginia Tech.
