Megan H. was honored as a scholar-athlete
Holston Senior Megan H. was recently recognized for her performance as a scholar athlete. Megan received the $5000 Jason Witten Scholarship designed to honor the area's outstanding scholar-athletes. The award is part of Witten's Score Foundation.
Megan has been a leader throughout her career at Holston High School. During 2011-12, she took part in a pilot program that permitted her to take dual credit classes on campus at Virginia Highlands Community College. She also was responsible for doing the morning announcements at the school. She was a member of the cheerleading squad during the fall and winter sport seasons and was the catcher for the highly successful softball team. The softball team ended the season as first runner-up in the state thanks in part to Megan's leadership.
Megan will attend Radford University, where she hopes to walk on to the softball team. Holston High School congratulates Megan and all she has accomplished.
