Emily W. and Lyndsey M. display their biographical pizza boxes.
Elvis Presley, Abe Lincoln, and Babe Ruth were just a few of the interesting people who stepped out of the past and into Mrs. Sutton’s 6th grade Language Arts class recently during a study of biographies. They were joined by other famous living people like Larry Byrd, Tim Tebow, Taylor Swift, and Cyndi Lauper. As a culminating project in this unit, which included reading biographies of famous people, students created pizza box reports which contained first-person biographical sketches of the person's life, pictures, quotes, interesting facts, and decorative artwork to go along with their project. Students also dressed up and orally presented their reports to classmates.
