The eighth grade students at Wallace Middle School recently traveled to the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon to participate in the Career Carnival coordinated by the Educational Talent Search Program at Virginia Highlands Community College. Students were given the opportunity to explore many different careers at each of the 43 information booths that were staffed by experts in their respective fields. Students were encouraged to learn about the different careers, ask questions, and seek advice from the professionals who were willing to share their knowledge and expertise as they participated in a variety of interactive and hands-on activities. Some of the booths offered candy and other prizes for career games and challenges. The students were excited to participate in the activities and learn about some of the various careers that were represented.
