GGirls stand in front of a stage. The Wallace Girls on Track team are getting ready to go for a run!

The Wallace Middle School Girls on Track Club had an outstanding spring! With a team of 25 to 30 girls from grades 6th, 7th, and 8th, much was learned about running, exercise in general, good eating habits, getting along with others, and being part of a "team." These girls learned the important basics of running - warm-up, stretching, and agilities - over the 8 week period and how to apply and use these basics in their lives. On May 5th, three of the girls went on to compete in the Animal Chase Creeper Trail Run along with Coach Patti Turpin. Coach Turpin ran the 10K race (6.2 miles), Chelsea C. ran the 5K (3.1 miles) race, and Kaley S. and Brittany J. competed in the mile run. They all had outstanding races! Congratulations to all of these girls on a wonderful Wallace Middle School Girls on Track season!
