Several students sit at tables eating pizza. Library shelves filled with books surround them. Students enjoy pizza with the principal in the library.

As part of this year’s goal to encourage reading at Meadowview Elementary School, students who meet their Accelerated Reader goals for the nine weeks earn the possibility of having a pizza lunch with the principal. Of all the students who meet their goals, one student from each homeroom is chosen randomly. The first pizza lunch of the year was enjoyed by all the students as they carried on this year’s reading theme of “Rocketing Into Reading” with various “outer-space” activities. For the first nine weeks, the following students were able to participate: Harley G., Abby E., Lane R., Madison O., Bailey M., Risten R., Naomi H., Caleb R., Breanna Y., Amber P., Cheyenne W., Rain K., Catelyn G., Aidan E., Christian S., Hayden M., Zachary B., Audrey S., Walker R., Dakota R., Kaycee D., Kolby J., Andrew L., Junior P., Kaitlyn B., Andrew T., Grace R., Hunter G., Danielle M., Carolina T., Jacob L., Thomas S., Nick C., Kealie H., Matt T., Jarrett A., and Madison M. We expect even more students to try to meet their goals in the hope of earning this special privilege.
