Greendale Elementary School is proud to announce our 2009-2010 teacher of the year, Mrs. Susan Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan has been a third grade teacher at Greendale Elementary for the past five and 1/2 years and currently teaches third grade math. Her students’ success on Standards of Learning tests reflects her ability to both teach the material and encourage students to achieve; last year 100% of Greendale’s third grade math students passed the math SOLS! However, effective teaching is much more than test scores, and Mrs. Sullivan embodies the superior teacher. Few students who have experienced her teaching don’t respond with a smile when asked about the “wrap-up rap” or the other multiplication songs and cheers Mrs. Sullivan uses as instructional helps. Her classroom is energy-filled and fun and her students thrive in this environment. Mrs. Sullivan is excited about teaching, and this rubs off on all of us, young and old! We are so pleased to have Mrs. Susan Sullivan as part of our faculty!
