John S. Battle High School's annual induction ceremony for the Caywood Chapter of the National Honor Society was Friday morning, April 29, 2005. The candlelight ceremony was lead by the chapter's current officers; president, Meghan B., vice president, Mitch O., treasurer, Cory B., secretary, Ashley O., and historian, Tiffany M..
Thirty seniors, juniors, and sophomores were inducted into membership. Members were selected by a faculty council for meeting high standards in scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Students inducted were: Ryan A., Henry G., Traci L., Heather M., Kari E., Joshua G., Richard G., Meghan J., Nathan P., Danielle P., Wendy W., Johnna A., Laura B., Hannah B., Leslie C., Kristen E., Melissa G., William G., Kaylen H., Kayla L., Heather L., Deirdre L., Blakleah M., Amanda M., Rachel M., Benson R., Alex R., Ashley R., Kerrie S., and Chelsie W.
Principal, Judy Wilson, presented each new member with a certificate of membership during the ceremony. This was followed by the new members reciting the pledge of membership lead by Meghan B., chapter president. A reception was held immediately after the ceremony for new inductees and their parents in the school library. Congratulations to the new members on this accomplishment and always strive to uphold the four criteria used for your selection into this society: scholarship, leadership, character and service.
